they tell a story

The scars on her body
They all tell a story

For she had been ridden of freedom
To speak, to laugh, to live & to love
With a life planned out just for her
She was caught in binding ropes
Her “well wishers” had weaved oh so carefully
But the day had come when she had gotten tired
So tired of the fake smiles covering the pain
Tired of the endless routine
her life had sadly become

So she ran

Ran until the ropes holding her broke
Until the lungs in her body were empty of air
She went until she could no more
Until her knees buckled she fell flat on the floor
But finally did she take a sigh of relief
It didn’t matter if her body had no energy
For she was finally free from the cage
They all had trapped her in
For she finally had the freedom
to speak, to laugh, to live & to love

The scars on her body
They all tell a story
