In light of the surge of anti-Asian racism in the U.S. and across the world, we wanted to highlight a book that speaks to + validates these experiences.
“As Lunar New Year approaches, a time that is usually filled with celebration and light, my heart has been weighed down by the racist and senseless attacks on our Asian American elders. I created ‘I Still Believe in Our City’ in collaboration with @nycchr and @nyculture last Fall, but COVID-19 continues to flare through our communities and, Asian Americans continue to face added threats of blame, racism, and xenophobia, especially the most vulnerable members of our communities.
“this is the 21st century and we need to redefine r/evolution. this planet needs a people’s r/evolution. a humanist r/evolution. r/evolution is not about bloodshed or about going to the mountains and fighting. we will fight if we are forced to but the fundamental goal of r/evolution must be peace.
